COLLECTION APP
This app was a self-prompted exploration in app design.
The full prototype can be viewed here.
By providing a centralized hub, the app allows users to effortlessly compile products from TikTok, Amazon, eBay, and other sources into customized collections. Users can create profiles reflecting their individual interests and preferences, with the ability to categorize items based on hobbies, wishlists, room decor, and more.
The focus is on creating a user-friendly experience, offering a visually appealing interface for easy navigation. The project seeks to enhance digital organization, eliminating the need for users to go through the hassle of searching through numerous apps or videos to find what they're looking for. The Collection App is a thoughtful solution for streamlining the curation process and providing users with a convenient, centralized space for managing their curated collections.

One of my favorite movies, 20th Century Women, features a character named Abbie who takes polaroid images of all of her belongings. The Collection app is essentially the digital version of this idea.

TikTok
The creator @tallneil on TikTok was one of the first inspirations I had for the project. I loved his sentiment on consumerism. He essentially states that if you’re interacting with a product everyday, it makes sense to invest in it. An experience is something you can purchase and enjoy once whereas, a product that you mindfully purchase is an experience that you can enjoy potentially for years.
- Instagram
Taking inspiration from creators that I already follow, I found some images of theirs that I thought would seamlessly inform the aesthetics of the app.
